Skiing: recreation, sport, and mode of
transportation that involves moving over snow by the use of a
pair of long, flat runners, called skis, attached to shoes or
boots.
But to anyone who has skied or snowboarded
before, it is truly much more than this. The sport has grown to
such proportions over the decades that millions of people
worldwide go skiing every year. The fantastic thing about
skiing or snowboarding is its broad appeal to all skill and
adventure levels. You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy a
rewarding day of exercise, challenge, and camaraderie, all while
soaking up some of the most amazing scenery in the world.

And skiing is more than just skiing. Most
resorts offer world-class shopping, fine dining, cultural
events, and abundant nightlife to make your ski vacation
complete. So whether you’re in it for the rush of a
high-speed downhill decent or the calming sensation of taking
some easy turns in a wide-open alpine environment, the ski
destinations found on this site will provide you the opportunity
to ski, shop, eat, and fully enjoy everything that comes with
the ski lifestyle. Below you will find a brief overview of the
three major regions that we serve. |

BC Interior:
Though lesser known in the region than its bigger
cousins to the East and West, the interior of British Columbia
boasts some fantastic ski destinations, accessible at a fraction
of the price of Whistler or the Canadian Rockies. Smaller lift
lines, great snow, and beautiful weather mean destinations like
Silver Star, Big White, and Apex should be on your list to ski.
The area’s high precipitation and low humidity combine to
produce over 20 feet of light champagne powder annually.
Canadian Rockies:
This region includes the world-famous ski destination of Banff,
along with the lesser known (and less populous) Fernie and
Kicking Horse Resorts. This area is known for its wide-open
bowls and tree-lined glades covered with fresh, dry, champagne
powder. Visitors enjoy unspoiled scenery, short lift lines, and
guaranteed friendly local hospitality.
Whistler:
Whistler (and its fraternal twin, Blackcomb) are
known for much more than just skiing. The resort is
consistently ranked by various trade publications as the #1
Resort in North America for its combination of terrain, weather,
lodging, dining, après ski, family programs, scenery, and other
factors. Just two hours from downtown Vancouver along the
scenic Sea to Sky highway, Whistler/Blackcomb will be the joint
host (with Vancouver) of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
